The reopening of pubs, bars, hotels & restaurants

Following advice from experts in the hospitality sector, and in line with scientific advice around COVID-19, the Government have allowed businesses in this sector to reopen in England from the 4th July. This is, of course, a huge relief to all those working in this industry but reopening these venues has not be a straightforward process, it is not just be a question of spring cleaning and turning the key in the door!

The challenge of reopening pubs, bars, hotels & restaurants

The Government has set out a range of measures to assist those opening their doors again to the public in as safe a way as is possible, not least of all the social distancing necessity, which has been the key to all stages of restart in these unprecedented times. To help with this the announcement included the change in the distancing rule from 2 metres down to 1 metre, where 2m is not viable. This will be a massive help to this sector when preparing their venues in the coming days, but there is still a huge challenge to face and it remains to be seen how successful this can be, and most importantly, how convinced potential customers will feel.

Safety first in the hospitality industry

Most businesses in the hospitality industry will be very keen to open their doors to the public once again, and will be considering every scenario available to make this viable in the safest possible way.

This is where we at Zest Marquees may be able to help. We have for many years been assisting customers extend their premises for countless reasons with our various forms of tent structures. Today, with this unwanted virus closing most of our businesses without a second thought for our livelihood, we may be able to help your operation operate in the safest possible way. We can extend your space to make it possible to seat your guests in a comfortable safe environment, whilst still following the Government guidance on social distancing. As well as your obvious responsibility to your customers, they will also need to be convinced that visiting your venue is the right thing to do!

How can you extend your premises?

Many venues have been using marquees for a long time to extend their inside space for parties and weddings, or simply to make better use of their outdoor space, accounting for all weathers. With the summer upon us and hopefully continual good weather, your marquee can be opened up, providing more of an inside/outside space and therefore complying with the ‘ventilation is best’ rule. With this pandemic now changing the way we run our businesses, at least for the foreseeable future, we can provide a solution that will allow you to facilitate more guests on your premises, therefore giving your customers the confidence to return with the knowledge that the experience will be a good one!

Long term marquee hire

If this is something you are able to include in your approach then we can give you an idea of the cost involved in hiring a long term marquee. We're offering discounts of up to 50% to help you get started with a marquee.

Marquee equipment hire

A marquee is a blank canvas and you can of course include many accessories to enhance this space, which we would be only too happy to discuss with you. As an example, our bar hire service could be very useful in this instance as specific staff would be designated separate areas to work in, minimising contact, as set out in the Government guidelines. Equipment for hire includes lighting hire, furniture hire, dance floor hire, floor covering hire and bar hire.

Planning an event involves a lot of decisions, but one of the most critical is selecting the proper size marquee. Whether hosting a wedding, corporate gathering, birthday party, or festival, the marquee size can make or break your event. Too small, and your guests feel cramped. It is too large and can feel empty or a waste of budget.
